TÜRKAK Brings Auditors Together in Ankara

An “Auditor Experience-Sharing Meeting” was held on 27-28 June 2018 at the Ankara Swiss Hotel by the Department of Product, Service and Inspection Accreditation (ÜHMAB), Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK).

Discussions focused on issues including the documents of TURKAK, EAU (European Accreditation Union) and ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Community), important points of accreditation processes, the revision of the ISO/IEC 17011 standard, the accreditation processes for the purpose of approval and the printouts about overseas.

158 people, including all lead auditors, auditors and technical experts appointed in the Product Certification and Inspection accreditation fields participated in the meeting.

The afternoon session of the two-day meeting covered the hands-on reviews, including the specification of the goals to contribute to the identification and qualification of non-conformities in terms of different scenarios, the adaptation of sector-based groups into related regulation processes, and D/TU balance (frequently seen non-conformities, audit periods, content samples, etc).

The highlighted points at the meeting were important competencies that the ISO/IEC 17011 revision requires, and the importance of process and decisions taken in accreditation processes that TÜRKAK’s audits/technical experts run.

It was stated that these meetings held with the participation of audits and technical experts by TÜRKAK, were significant opportunities to provide a basis for sharing experiences and leading to harmonization.
