The fourth meeting of sector ladies was held in Ankara on 10-11 November 2017. Coming together under the concept, “High-Heel Sounds in Elevators,” women in the elevator sector came into Atatürk’s presence.
Coming into Atatürk’s presence on the first day of the two-day program, sector ladies visited the former Grand National Assembly of Turkey after they visited Anıtkabir, the mausoleum.
The women members of the workshop organized a meeting with ASFED on the second day of the program. The Head of ASFED, Yusuf Atik, made a speech in the meeting and expressed his support toward the women.
Yasemin Bulut from Önder Elevator, the pioneer of the organization, took the stage and talked about their achievements. Stating that they aim at embracing the whole sector with an ever-increasing number, Bulut said they wish to represent our country in the world scene by making contact with equivalent organizations abroad.
Berna Ökmen from Merih Elevator made a presentation titled, “Women Issues in Business Life and The Reflections on the Sector.” Focusing on the place of women in society in her presentation, Ökmen introduced the leading successful women who broke ground in the history of Turkey. The presentation aroused a great interest and influence among the participants.
The program continued with the main agenda of the meeting. Some information was provided on the preparation and preliminary studies for bringing women in the sector together under the same roof of the organization. Tansel Namlıses from Artı Plus Consultancy took the stage in the afternoon session and told the audience about the benefits of getting organized for the purpose of being a non-governmental organization through specific examples in her presentation titled, “The Influence of Non-Governmental Organizations on the Community Development.” At the end of the day, an agreement was made on the acceleration of the process of getting organized and having a related comprehensive meeting in Istanbul. 🌐
